Poem Noir background image.

The first picture in the row is one I did for the background image for my Poem Noir poem in the creative writing section of my web site. The picture and the poem are inspired by Film Noir. Film Noir isn't considered a genre. It's the style a film is made in. Here is an site with a good explanation of the type http://www.filmsite.org/filmnoir.html  The Maltese Falcon (1941) Probably the movie that started the style. Elsewhere on the site are other images inspired by Film Noir such as the image for the nose art on the Pitts biplane.

The office building is a series of flat surfaces made from thin boxes to give the illusion of the walls of the room and hall. The perspective is forced. Meaning the item in the scene are not all to scale. The camera is place in such a way as to make it all look to scale. A recent prominent and frequent use of this technique is in the films from The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson.

I'd like to thank the following 3D artists for posting the models used in the picture on TurboSquid the largest library of 3D products for sale in the world. Many models are free as are all these I used for the image. http://www.turbosquid.com
